Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has sent out an emotional message after a former favourite confirmed he's hanging up his boots.

Former Wrexham star Ben Tozer has announced his retirement from the game at the age of 35. The defender played a key role in Wrexham's back-to-back promotions in 2023 and 2024, making 136 appearances for the club and scoring seven goals along the way.

Tozer became a real favourite at Wrexham before his departure, and the club were quick to react to the news. "A fantastic career and wishing you the very best in your retirement," the club posted on X. Reynolds has also added a more personal touch with a message to Tozer on social media.

He posted on Instgram: "Happy retirement to this absolute gent of a man. There are a number of reasons Wrexham has come so far. Ben Tozer is one of 'em. Legend."
WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM
While Tozer gets used to retired life, Wrexham will jet out to Australia and New Zealand for pre-season. The Welsh side are set to take on Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix as they prepare for the 2025-26 campaign in the Championship.
