Former goalkeeper backs Wrexham to reach ChampionshipDibble praises Reynolds and McElhenneyWrexham flying high in League TwoWHAT HAPPENED?
Andy Dibble was Wrexham's goalkeeper when the Welsh club were last promoted to the third tier in 2003, but he believes the Red Dragons can go one better and reach the Championship. After securing promotion from the National League last season, Phil Parkinson's side are flying high in League Two. Wrexham are currently second in the table after 17 games, five points behind leaders Stockport County.

Wrexham spent 15 years outside the Football League after relegation in 2008, but things started to look up when Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club in 2021. Their first season in charge ended with play-off semi-final heartbreak at the hands of Grimsby Town, but last season saw Wrexham win the National League with a record 111 points total. Dibble – who is the goalkeeping coach at Wrexham's next opponents Accrington Stanley – told the Leader that the sky is the limit under Reynolds and McElhenney.
WHAT ANDY DIBBLE SAID
Dibble said: "It is a fairytale what has happened at Wrexham. I think it is fantastic what's happened there and I would love to see Wrexham challenging for the Championship. I can see Wrexham's destiny being the Championship if they keep going the way they are and I think it will be fantastic for the town, the people, manager, players, owners, everybody."
