Bayern's director of sport told : "I know what it means when you make statements like Kloppo, who said: 'I have no more energy.' Few people can judge that better than me because I went through it. People come first. That’s why I won’t call him."
Eberl then left the door open for Mourinho when quizzed about the Portuguese coach, who is available after being sacked by Roma, adding: "Of course you also look at trainers who are currently available."

Eberl also revealed that there were "more than four, but not 40 names” on his list of potential candidates and also added rather cryptically that "unusual ideas also appear on the list." Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, ex-Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mourinho have all been linked with Bayern since Tuchel's departure was announced.

The Bundesliga giants will continue their search for a new manager but are in no rush as things stand. "It's not about making quick decisions, but smart ones," Eberl added on the current situation. Yet much will be expected of the new coach, particularly with Bayern set to miss out on the Bundesliga title this season as they sit 10 points behind Leverkusen with just eight games remaining.
