Brazil close in on Carlo Ancelotti and Jorge Jesus as they are determined to finalise Dorival Junior's successor before the Club World Cup.

Brazil parted ways with Dorival Junior last week following their humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Argentina in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying match. The CBF are now in search of a quality manager who could replace Dorival Junior at the helm, and reports that they have narrowed in on Real Madrid boss Ancelotti and Al-Hilal head coach Jesus.

The report adds that CBF want to end their search and appoint a new head coach before the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup starts on June 14 as the Selecao are scheduled to face Ecuador and Paraguay on June 4 and 9, respectively, in crucial World Cup qualifiers. CBF want the new coach to be on the sidelines for those two matches. As of now, both Ancelotti and Jesus will head to the United States with their respective clubs.

While it is unlikely that Los Blancos will allow the Italian coach – who has a contract until 2026 – to leave right before the Club World Cup, Jesus is reportedly keen on taking the job as his current deal expires after the competition. Jesus seems to be the more viable option for Brazil at the moment, but a source inside CBF told that Ancelotti is considered “the president’s dream”.
