Despite picking up four points from their previous two Championship fixtures, Queens Park Rangers have had a difficult start to the 2018/19 campaign in general, and must look to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
What’s the story?
In an interview with ITV, former England international Peter Crouch claimed he would love to return to Loftus Road before he retires from playing football.
The 37-year-old striker, who has been on the books at current club Stoke City for seven years, made his professional breakthrough for Queens Park Rangers, after an unsuccessful spell at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Premier League veteran spent one season at QPR, where he netted 12 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions, before making the move to Portsmouth in 2001.
Crouch told ITV: “I’ve played for quite a few clubs but quite a few of them I hold dearly, really. I think QPR is one of my favourites because that’s where I started.
“My friends and family are QPR fans, as well, so that’s one that is really close to my heart and I always said I would go back there one day and I would love to go back there.”
Could Crouch work at Loftus Road?
Although no longer in his heyday, Peter Crouch still has the potential to be a top Championship striker for at least one more year.
Having started just two games for the Potters this season, the Englishman has had to make do with making an impact off the bench, scoring once in his substitute appearances.
Queens Park Rangers have scored just three goals this season in their opening six Championship fixtures, the least of any of the 24 teams in the division.
Currently sat in the relegation zone, Steve McClaren should certainly be considering a move for the former R’s front man to solve their goalscoring woes.
Whilst age may not be on his side, Peter Crouch still has the capability to find the net and get Queens Park Rangers out of the current mess they find themselves in.
