United were unable to find a winner against their mid-table opponents in an underwhelming Saturday lunchtime goalless draw
Manchester United were frustrated by West Ham in a poor 0-0 draw in the Women's Super League on Saturday, as any lingering title hopes the Red Devils had were extinguished. The result leaves United third, five points behind leaders Chelsea having played a game more.
Celin Bizet hit the bar in the first half as the visitors went close, while Elisabeth Terland sporadically threatened with headed efforts, but that was the extent of the action with Ella Toone unable to influence proceedings.
It was generally a disappointing performance from Marc Skinner's side, and they have almost certainly paid the price by ceding more ground in the title race.

GettyGoalkeeper & Defence
Phallon Tullis-Joyce (6/10):
Solid enough and made some saves as the game progressed, but nearly got herself into trouble when coming a long way for a free-kick in the first half and not quite getting there.
Jayde Riviere (7/10):
A constant outlet down the right-hand side, with the pace and physicality to contribute in attack and defence, but was unable to deliver consistent quality.
Maya Le Tissier (6/10):
Comfortable in possession, particularly with her passing between the lines. West Ham never threatened in front of goal.
Millie Turner (5/10):
Committed an early foul and was on thin ice from there, eventually going into the book for a tug back before half-time. Still part of a solid defensive effort.
Gabrielle George (6/10):
Also offered an outlet up and down her flank but was less influential than Riviere and booked in the second half.

Celin Bizet (5/10):
Carried the ball nicely at times and hit the bar with one effort in the first half, but with little final product.
Grace Clinton (6/10):
Tirelessly covered every blade of grass but was part of an ineffectual team performance in the final third.
Hinata Miazawa (5/10):
Has plenty of class but wasn't hugely influential in the game as West Ham stopped her dictating.
Ella Toone (4/10):
There was little sign of her quality as she was hardly involved in the game. Subbed off with 17 minutes to play after a frustrating afternoon.
Leah Galton (5/10):
An energetic performance and delivered a couple of nice crosses onto the head of Terland, which would have been fine assists had the chances been taken.

Elizabeth Terland (6/10):
Led the line well and was clearly her side's chief goal threat, but will be frustrated she couldn't take the chances that would have won them the game.

Anna Sandberg (5/10):
Didn't have the same impact as George but a solid enough cameo.
Melvine Malard (6/10):
Made the ball stick a little more in the final third but still didn't have the quality to find a breakthrough.
Rachel Williams (6/10):
Did bring something with her energy but, like so many others, lacked the quality to make a difference.
Dominique Janssen (N/A):
On for the last knockings.
Marc Skinner (5/10):
Skinner's team was untroubled defensively but struggled going forwards, largely resorting to deep crosses towards Terland for opportunities.
